In dynamic mode, it crashes when going to 3D mode. The reason for this is the extender which causes a crash - by replacing the existing extender with DOS32A, it works fine.

On my bottom of the line Dell PC the AD runs from the CD... menus are smooth but videos are very choppy and I'm yet to try the combat. Also I cant get the program to run from my hard disk, I have to use the CD version v1.115 (which lacks the 1.120 patch and the 3dfx patch). Any suggestions would be appreciated, I've already changed config to cycles=auto and memsize=256.

I don't remember doing anything special. I applied the v1.120 patch so now to play I run AD2.exe, and I think all I did in the DOSBox config file was set the CPU cycles to automatic, but I'll double-check that when I get home from work tonight as I forget which games run well on automatic and which need specific settings.
I max out all of the visual/audio settings in AD and it runs very smoothly.
It does occur to me that AD might run smoothly for me only because my AMD FX-57 - running at stock speed - just has the brute force necessary to run the game smoothly.
AD works under 0.65 (2006-04-14 23:05)

It runs smoothly (software mode), the sound works perfectly (except for a low scratching/rumble noise during and for a little while after joystick calibration), the joystick works and the mouse works. Finally, I get to play this game!
