So, i was sitting chilling this 1 night... then i remembered this game i played ages ago - fucking awesome - i spend a few hours finding it and downloading it, then getting it to work was a little hard, but i managed.
i was using dosbox, but the game was running ridculously slow, and i came here looking for answers... a few corrections to teh_boon's comment and your good :D
make the bat file. and insert following lines:
core=dynamic
cycles=auto
- that was enough for the game to run at a decent rate
this game pwnz, GG! :D |

The game runs exactly as in an old machine!!!!!!
instructions:
get the lastest version of dosbox.
if you have the cd of conquest, version for MSdos:
install game and update with the two patches.
at the cpu section of config file set the following
core=dynamic
cycles=auto
and put this at the end of the config file:

mount C C:\intrplay\conquest
C:
mount d d:\ -t cdrom -ioctl
If your locations or drives are different, substitute the corresponding information.
run setup when in dosbox and set your sound
if sound gets too cluttered you may change sound parameters to
sbtype=sbpro1
sbbase=220
irq=7
dma=1
in config file and the corresponding settings in the conquest setup too. you could also set
prebuffer=100
If your mouse is slow, set paramenter sensivity to a higher value
or follow the procedure by teh boon in the last comment! yet i dont know anything about .bat files |

Hey, the following worked for me. (Assuming you play with a CD)
Make a .bat file with the following lines:
core=dynamic
cycles=auto
mount x x:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl
y:
cd intrplay
cd conquest
cnwmain.exe -usecd
Note that x is your CDrom drive, and y is the drive where you installed Conquest of the New World.
Now mount the drive where you installed CNW, and run the batch file, everything should run just fine now. |

Works fine (DOSBox version 0.63) with dos32a (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?page=dos32a) and with dynamic CPU core. |

Seems to work perfect, but it's quite slow - I'm running a 2 Ghz. Athlon / GF4 4400, linux version, and even though it's a little slow, with some tweaking and a fast enough computer it's definitely playable, and still fun! |
