CadKey is a very nice CAD program that got permanently burned into my finger-memory as a first-year engineering student. It's one of the delightful late-DOS programs that uses weird stuff to access high memory, and thus doesn't run in a Windows command shell.

In order to get this working with higher-resolution graphics than the standard 640x480, I did the following:

* In the CadKey "config" program, selected "VESA compatible 256 color" graphics device (device number 59 on the menu), and mode "1024 x 768, 256 colors" (mode 4 on the menu).

* Run the "vesa256" driver program (included with CadKey) prior to running the CadKey executable.

I've tried this with both 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768 resolutions; and both seem to work fine.
