An info from VOGONS forum (ripsaw8080): The in-game sound (I used SB16) is strangely garbled under dynamic core and max cycles; fixed cycles of 15000 was fine, though. Normal core and max cycles also worked OK, sound is smooth.

To manually install Down in the Dumps, you have to copy the ITOON folder from CD1 to your hard disk in addition to CHANGECD & FONT and files DID.EXE, DOS4GW.EXE, HMIDET.386, HMIDRV.386 & PLAYDID.BAT.

Run PLAYDID.BAT to play Down in the dumps.

Install does not work (crash on start). The game can be played in DOSBox, but must be installed outside of it in DOS. Deleting of did.cfg before first run in DOSBox may be needed in order to get correct sound detection.

Install starts, then the notice: "Exit to error: IRET to lower privilege" appears and DOSBox quits.
