Install trick w/o CD-ROM (2014-08-19 18:07)
silvercoon
I stumbled on this while trying to install The Scottish Open.
Create a virtual CD-ROM drive:
mount d: -t cdrom C:Path-To-Install
d:
INSTALL.EXE/COM/BAT etc.
mount c C:Users (Home folder, etc.)
c:
Now the install screen should come up. (The VESA option didn't work for me for some reason.)
When it lists the drives available, there may be
only two, and they won't work (like D & Z).
Press ESC to get the C: prompt. Type d: then install. At the drive screen again, the C: option is there this time. My problem now is that the game won't work if the archive doesn't include
the voice files, even if the install worked.
As to why v0.60@90% (2009-08-02 22:32)

Completed myself a while ago eith DosBox not higher than 0.70. I guess it's no crime to check 100% support.
Definitely playable! (2008-07-10 08:28)

Played better than I expected. Ran about 85% normal speed with frameskip set to 4. Installed, played, and beaten on Mac OS 10.4.11 with a PowerPC G4 466 MHz. Used hard drive trick for the CD, helped the FMV cutscenes run much faster.
Played better in DosBox in Mac then in Virtual PC 7 with Windows XP.
Completed in v0.70 (2007-05-13 12:06)
Squeaks
I just completed the game on a P4 2.8GHz with hard drive installation mentioned as above. Game ran flawlessly with little or no adjustment. Hard drive installation took about 543MB.
Better than I had hoped! (2005-12-07 11:05)
Matchschtick
Worked great in XP along with D-Fend. Managed to get music, voice(I have the CD version), and all of the rest to work off of my hard drive.
Tips:
In XP, you need to run the installer first. Once it installs the 17MB or so of files, go to the CD and copy over all of the animation files, the voice file (300MB VOC), and any others, but don't overwrite the files on the destination hard drive location.
Next, edit the .ini file with notepad, making the path for all of the files the same (ex. C:\DGATEVGA).
Next, Configure D-Fend profile for 6000 CPU cycles, and make sure the drive mounted is C:\DGATEVGA. Otherwise default.
