For 1995 a very good Racer!
Maybe you should mount the game folder as a CD-ROM drive (D). Start "FATAL.EXE", not the Batch file which is executing "FAKECD.exe". To setup the game execute "INSTALL.EXE".

I love this game, and have struggled to get it to run 100% for ages. Been testing around with different builds, and what it comes down to is that you need an extreme CPU to not have FPS drops on some tracks in SVGA mode (VGA doesnt really improve things too much either). The worst track is Premier Cup Track 5. As soon as you approach the jump/underpass the framerate drops for me. It goees as low as 1 FPS until i have passed that part of the track.

Apart from that it runs perfect. As mentioned in the Whiplash (essentially the same game) comments, choose Soundblaster in the Setup to not get stuttering sound.

To get it working laglessly at SVGA, you need 128k or more CPU cycles and set DOSBox's priority on both highest, 16 megabyte memory is enough.

I guess I could get some frames if I lower those settings, but that's the minimum I need to enjoy the game.

For linux people: dosemu runs this one very good.
