To fix crackle/fuzzing in game sound (2016-12-27 11:55)

If you wish to fix crackle/fuzzing in game, and still get best stereo sound you need to set in "dosbox.conf":
sbtype=sbpro2

and start game with parameter:
GUIMO.EXE -nojoystick
It's a joystick problem about distortion, but also Sound Blaster 16 gives permanent slow crackle, so dont select it in dosbox.conf.

Sound blaster 1 and 2 are not really a wise decision, since they don't support stereo output. Setting the sound card to sbpro1 up to sb16 works quite OK for low detail and oplrate 22050. However, sound is still not 100% smooth, but no crackle. So either mid detail and mono or low detail and stereo, your decision what sounds best to you.

Needs to be tweaked quite a bit for the sound to be acceptable. My settings are
(Using Dosbox Game Launcher)Cycles max 50%, Sound blaster 1, OPL rate 11025, giving only minor crackle and fuzzing. Setting the sound detail to medium ( in the in-game jump-n'- shoot setup menus) might also be a good idea.
