initial load slow? (2017-11-09 04:25) |

I always experienced a little delay after clicking, especially on a huge galaxy size. But I don't remember the loading being so slow, especially the black screen even before the blue loading text. After that it runs as well as it ever did on an old machine. |

Runs but with notable delays (2012-02-08 15:48) |

Hi. I'm using DOSBox v0.74 and the game works fine but when you click there's a long delay between the click and the action being taken. Does anyone know how to solve this? I have a recent PC, a Phenom II X4 with 2 GB of RAM running Windows XP. |

I haven't been able to play MOO for almost 15 years because I keep upgrading my computer.
I just recently found dosbox. What a wonderful thing to find.
I love MOO and I'm playing it again. No problems so far. |

No sound or music (2009-09-05 23:45) |

Make sure you run MOO's install.exe before playing. The DOS interface of that executable will allow you set set hardware configurations. Use arrow keys and spacebar to select Soundblaster Pro. Also, make sure you set sbtype=sbpro2 in your dosbox conf file for MOO. |

Not getting music? (2008-08-06 19:04) |

I had the same problem as some people here and on other boards, namely that the midi music wasn't working, even though sound effects were. After trying basically everything I could think of, I noticed that in the game options screen (where you usually don't even need to go) the sound setting was set to SFX only. Enabling music there was all I needed to do to get music working. I do not know why the setting was like that, I definitely had not switched it off myself.

Game runs really well on XP. Transitions to event movies is a bit slow but they run normally once started. Sound is as good as I remember it. |

Runs like the wind, with all sound, on a PIII 1.2GhZ laptop running Windows XP. Even the intro movie is as quick as I've ever seen it. It crashed once (in many hours of play) but that was probably just the game; MoO is back for me, baby. |

The game runs nice and smooth but frequently the image turns to 16 colours when I run it in full screen. I have to made Alt+Enter to correct it. Normally it corrects it but it is a little annoying because some times it happens frequently. |

I downloaded this emulator just to play this game. Windows cannot emulate EMS memory in NFORCE chipsets with the LAN enabled, but this software does just fine.
You will need a modern CPU to play the game smoothly, at 15000-20000 CPU Cycles. My 3400+ Athlon 64 has not problem and I'm happy about it.
The lag that occurs if you run the game under Windows, does not occur with the emulator. Sound FX and Music work fine as well, in Sound Blaster Pro II Emulation |

The FX sound is working for me, but I cannot get the music to play, however I'm experiencing the exact same problem with microsoft virtual PC so im wondering if its somthing other than the software. |

frameskip=2 cycles=11500 scale=2x
WinXP, AMD 2000+, ran from USB 2.0 memory card reader
Game is smooth, new game world generation is somewhat slower than running in standard WinXP DOS box. Saves/loads fine. Sound is fine. This was with high 80's to low 90's CPU usage, so it could be pushed a bit more. |

Runs, but too slow to be really playable (2003-10-12 16:07) |

(DOSBox 0.58) The game runs, but I find it too slow to be truly playable: ie., there is a significant delay between when you click on something, and when the game responds to it. |
