Did somebody found a way to play sounds in the game through the Dosbox correctly? As was stated here, there should be heard opening music and the "cha, cha, cha" chant etc.
As I understand it correctly, LateBlt only found a way to extract these sound, but how to play the game with correct sounds?

Just as a follow-up to my previous comment, I found out that the digitized sound I mentioned is stored as raw audio in the TOPPLER.DAT file, along with some other data. You can hear both the opening music and the "Cha, cha, cha" chant if you import that file into an audio program that can play raw audio (such as Audacity, using its "Import Raw Data" command) at a sample rate of 8,000 Hz. |

The gameplay and graphics are fine, but digitized sound doesn't play in this game. I believe such sound is limited to the traditional Russian song which is supposed to play for about 15 seconds at the title screen, and the "Cha, cha, cha" chant made by the little dancing red creatures (they're supposed to be party bureaucrats, according to the game's documentation) when the game is over. |
