Patch for no-scroll on a portrait monitor is amazing (2021-10-16 03:50) |

Wish I'd found this before: I was wondering how to play this game on my monitor rotated 90 degrees with no scrolling.. Turns out there's a pretty short Dosbox patch that disables VGA panning registers to achieve that. https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=12424 |

0.74 Music issue (2017-06-03 17:19) |

Found a way to solve the music stopping issue. The SoundBlaster configuration for DosBox must be using IRQ 7, not 5. For some reason, this causes the music to stop after 2-3 seconds. This issue doesn't happen with Soundblaster 16 when selecting it from the Setup Menu on the game, but found it really annoying when trying to use the SoundBlaster Pro 2. |

svga_s3 + high resolution slowdown (2011-10-01 22:35) |

game works quite well with all sorts of settings, except when going to high resolution (F5 screen) and using svga_s3 for video. vgaonly doesn't seem to suffer this, but doesn't stretch to full screen for me. |

0.73 Works with right settings. (2010-05-01 12:20) |

Use "ddraw" renderer. Set video card to "vgaonly" to correct pallette in menus. Toggle "correct aspect ratio" to stretch table in fullscreen mode. This leads to a slight GFX error in the score bar. Enabling "double buffering" fixes the score bar but produces distoted sound. Alternatively increase fullscreen resolution to 1024 or 1280. I had best results with these settings:
Cycles: Auto or between 5000-10000
Fullscreen res: 1280x1024
Double buffering: OFF
Keep aspect ratio: ON
Renderer: ddraw
Video Card: vgaonly
Scale: advmame2x

0.65 and 0.70: Plays OK but... (2007-03-12 04:26) |

The game plays overally ok but this game's emulation suffer of minor annoyances: colors are wrong in the main menu, scrolling of the dot matrix display isn't as smooth as it should be, the music hics up once after 2 sec or so then plays ok, Sound Blaster must be chosen as sound device (using Gravis UltraSound causes the game to slowdown a lot). Otherwise this game plays great. |

very well playable in 0.65 (2006-04-17 19:13) |

Very well playable over here, which is on a Duron 850 (!) under WinXP: using 4000 cycles and full-screen mode (ddraw). Although the palette-issue in the main screen is quite annoying :(
Only when I shoot the ball to the top of the screen, I can sometimes hear the music stutter because of the fast scrolling and my slow cpu. Hats off to the devs! |

ball graphics broken (2006-04-11 12:44) |

In 0.65 the ball graphics is broken. In the game there are vertical "stripes" on the ball that are transparent. |

BUG 1:
Palette colors in the selection are still wrong.
When the screen is divided in 3 parts (the left bar, and two table logos) the left bar and the supperior logo have bad colors while the inferior logo is OK. I would guess that the coders made some tricks to have 3 palletes but the emulator is refilling all the 3 palletes each time the program sends the colors to the DAC. I guess this because the wrong colors in the first 2 color palletes are exactly the right colors that are used on the third one.
BUG 2:
The left bar was supposed to enter into the screen from the left side. But it is, instead, appearing centralized (when in fullscrenn mode). In windowed mode, the window changes its size to the exact size of the entire left bar while it is entering into the screen. |

v0.63 Works Perfectly (2004-12-01 22:18) |

The game music doesn't stop, the pallete is fine, starting tables is fine, and there are no black screens. If you see this, you're doing something wrong. The game plays perfectly and in my opinion, it's still the best damn pinball game ever made, specifically Party Land. |

Version 0.62 test (2004-10-26 03:15) |

Problem 1: The game music stops after 1.5 seconds. Problem 2: The pallete is totally fucked up, except for the logo, none of the colors looks like they way they should be. Problem 3: Starting up a table gives you a black screen leaving all you can do is to close your DosBox window. That is what happened to me. |

Correctly displayed ball (2004-03-03 18:41) |

It didn't display correctly for me, either, until I switched the display method to opengl. Hopefully that'll work for you. (Using version 0.61). |

v0.6 - I don't know why... (2004-01-31 00:52) |

I don't know why you all guys have properly displayed ball. My PC (Athlon 2000+ 512M RAM, GF4MX, WinXP) displays the ball shredded in 4200 cycles, and nothing helps it. And I don't understand why it needs so much cycles, 'cause it worked on my 386 (it's dead now) perfectly with (sic!) sound from PC Speaker. I cannot say it's perfectly supported game! |

Runs well with DosBox 0.60 some color's display wrong but not to the point you can't play. I have a AMD 2.4 gig system and could not get it to run if I set "cycles" to anything above 5000. On 4000 the ball displays properly so I am leaving well enough alone. Thanks to the DosBox team. |

Wrong colours on selection screen, ie text "Partyland" should be blue,
doesnt effect gameplay as table colours are correct.
Use <5000 cycles to enter selection screen, once table is loaded & if your pc
can handle it incress to >7000 & set frameskip to 0 to display the ball correctly.
Drop back to <5000 to exit or play a different table. |

tested with both .58 and .60 .. same problem
the ball doesn't appear in the lower part of the tables (same problem on the 4 tables)
quite boring .. only few pixels of the sprite are displayed in this part of the table.. |
