Tearing (2014-03-19 01:39) |

The game works well in last dosbox version, but in action areas (the one you control the princess) there is tearing, similar to have no vsync
This problem is not present in real DOS 486 PC, and neither in NTVDM, just in dosbox |

At 5000 some glitches still for the sound. So just put it at 12054 cycle and it will run perfectly like it was on the dos. |

Little change to make it run perfect! (2008-09-13 07:56) |

P.S. if you have a slow machine like me and decide to run the game on Windows without sound and emulation, make sure to remove the line "MUSIC = 1" from PM2.CNF. If you forget to do so, the game MIGHT cause a conflict with Windows and freeze up, requiring restart. This has happened to me before while I was testing the music options. So, don't repeat my mistake. Happy gaming! |

Sound problem solved. Still, the game runs sloppily. (2005-04-09 09:01) |

Guess what? I've solved my problem - and a very easy one too. After some search from abandonware sites, I found that I've to run the game configuration program (either DOSINST.EXE or PM2WINST.EXE, doesn't really matter) and set the sound mode to Sound Blaster. (as Joseph above me already told, thanks Joseph) Or you can simply edit the PM2.cnf with Notepad and add a line "MUSIC = 1" to it. It's really easy I feel stupid. So, finally you can listen to the original music. However, the game still runs really slow on my machine. (heck, I prefer running it without sound!) So I only recommend using DOSBox to emulate this baby (pun intended) when you really have a fast one. Thanks to the DOSBox team anyway for such a great program. |

Game Works Using Sound Blaster, But Not MIDI (2005-02-27 23:24) |

Simple stuff. This game works perfectly fine, and the sound works perfectly fine using Sound Blaster, too. Unfortunately, none of the other options(MIDI(MT-32), General MIDI(GM), MIDI + Sound Blaster, or GM + Sound Blaster) refuse to work. Apparently, even in v0.63 of DOSBox, there is no actual PURE MIDI support. Either that, or it varies from game to game. Odd. |

MIDI not working and game runs slowly sloppily. (2005-02-10 11:45) |

I'm using version 0.63 and there is still no music. The game runs really slowly. The graphic is sloppy too. I try everything: increase CPU cycle, decrease CPU cycle, skip frames. None of them works.
Currently, running the game directly on Windows is better than using DOSBox. It has no music so I use WinAmp to play music from other newer games in background. Believe it or not - the game still runs faster and smoother than when using DOSBox!
What did I do wrong? (or, what did you do right?)
My computer spec is:
Pentium IV 1.5 GHz
256 MB RAM
Windows 98
NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX 440
Diamond Monster Sound II PCI
I know it's a bit outdated by now but it still plays newer games quite well. Some other old games are emulated well with MIDI and all. I only have problem with this game, which also happen to be the game I love the most. :( |

(0.61) works perfectly. The cursor flickers a bit but that's not disturbing. |
