I hope this posts correctly. Useful tips for getting the Wizardworks collection working. Each game needs some tweaking to get it working correctly. I hope this is of use. |

In my previous post the backslashes didn't save in the post for some reason. They should all be c:(backslash) and c:(backslash)save(backslash). Sorry. |

I had the same problem as Jdb81 and Hozz. I have the Gamefest version running on XP. The Gamefest installer seems to mess it up for Dosbox. Installing to c:poolrad the .cfg file had c:poolrad and c:poolrad Since mounting makes this the root directory I changed the first one to just c: The save/load feature looks for a save folder so I changed the second line to c:save Before running I created the save folder and moved the two presaved games into it. Now it works under Dosbox.

If you are using the gold cd that has all nine games there are two things you have to do to get it to run. One is to add \ to the end of both file paths. The other is that the game installs to WIZWORX, not WIZWORKS as listed in the config file. I spent two hours tonight trying to get it to run. |

With the goldbox edition the default installation paths in pool.cfg need to have a backslash appended to them. Also keep in mind these paths will be relative to the Dosbox mountpoint.
Ensure the third line points to root directory of the install and ends in a backslash. C:\poolrad\
Ensure the fourth line points to the save directory and ends in a backslash. C:\poolrad\save\ |

Trying to get a party created. When I save a party, exit to DOS and return to the game, All party slots are now filled with copies of a single character.

Hozz, I don't think it's a DOSbox issue. Try editing the pool.cfg file. Make sure it has two lines with .\ instead of some drive and directory.
I suspect the problem could be that the version you have was once installed in a specific directory stated in the pool.cfg file. |
