I found in "4b) Added these lines to the end (in the [Autoexec] section):
mount c c:Games"
I had to edit "mount c c:Games" to "mount c c:Games" and it worked!
However, i can only get music to work, no voice or sound effects. If anyone can figure it out that would help me heaps, cheers!
Great work noisyparker! =] |

5) I created a shortcut to dosbox.conf, right-clicked on that, and opened Properties...
5a) In the General tab, I Changed the "Opens with" to point to the DosBox Emulator
5b) In the Shortcut tab, I used Change Icon to set it to the one in the BT.ICO file.
6) I copied the shortcut to my desktop and renamed it to "Busytown"
7) Click the shortcut to run the game
8) The first time you run it, it will prompt you for Sound Card settings. Press tab until you highlight the button to Detect Sound Cards, and press enter to select that. When it asks to continue, select Yes. It will find SoundBlaster 16 cards, which is fine. Select OK to exit the dialog. This will create a BT.PRE file in your Busytown folder (so that you will not need to be asked about the Sound Card in the future).
9) The game starts. BTW, you can use the Esc key as a shortcut to exit things in the game.
If you tweak your dosbox.conf in a way that makes things run better, be sure to update with your
improvements! :) |

1) Copying the BUSYTOWN folder from the install CD into C:/Games/
1a) [Optional] I removed the all-caps by going to C:Games, renaming BUSYTOWN to BT, and then renaming that to Busytown
2) I copied BT.ICO from the install CD into my Busytown folder
3) I opened the Options file the directory I have DosBox installed in (which brought up Notepad), and then saved that as dosbox.conf file in my C:GamesBusytown folder.
4) I opened the Busytown dosbox.conf with Notepad and...
4a) Changed these values:
fullscreen=true
cycles=10000
4b) Added these lines to the end (in the [Autoexec] section):
mount c c:Games
c:
cd Busytown
busytown
exit
4c) Saved the file and exited Notepad |
