One problem solved, a second one appears after the intro's. Any more commands that can be used to solve this issue?
Error: Star Fighter cannot locate its files (2019-12-13 12:08)

I am trying to start this game with CD in Dosbox on Windows 10. But I keep getting this error in Dosbox after it does correctly start the soundconfiguration. But when it comes to the install part it just stops with this error.
What commands can maybe help to fix this problem?

To avoid the memory error, patch the game to 1.15 (3dfx-release) and start it with
star3000 /no3dfx
it works of course with glide, too. use the daum-build of dosbox and start the game without the "/no3dfx"-attribute. :-)

The game plays smoothly with CD audio if an image is loaded instead of a physical disc. However, the game seems to crash when attempting to play the first exam (about 6 levels into the game).

To clarify about the CPU usage, I had the CPU setting in DOSBox set to "max".

This game is fully playable. The issue that alienjon is describing only occurs if the CD drive is not mounted and/or does not have the game disc inserted. If it is, the game works nearly flawlessly with DOSBox's default settings.
The only remaining issue I've found is that when music is enabled (playing off the CD), the game stutters every few seconds, making it nearly unplayable. None of my CPU cores went over about 3% usage, so it must be an issue with the way the CD is being handled. I can also confirm that it's not the disc skipping, as the music plays perfectly smoothly without skipping in a CD player or in Windows Media Player.

The game installs and starts without problem, but after the intro movie's load screen the game crashes with the error: Star Fighter allocated a maximum of 5121370 bytes of memory.
