Making it work

SimEarth requires the loadfix command to run properly (loadfix simearth).

Tested

2009-08-11 by Aaron of Mpls

DOSBox 0.73
Windows XP Pro SP2; 2.8 GHz Pentium D; 2 GB RAM
SimEarth version 1.2

Settings:

  • DOSBox:
  • CPU Cycles: 8000
  • SimEarth:
  • Video: VGA 640x480 16 color
  • Sound: Sound Blaster

Game seems to run OK, with full sound effects and music. Motion is a bit choppy at DOSBox's default 3000 cycles; as mentioned above, I turn it up to 8000 cycles when playing.
