Command & Conquer, abbreviated to C&C and also known as "Tiberian Dawn", is a 1995 real-time strategy computer game developed by Westwood Studios for MS-DOS and published by Virgin Interactive. It was the first of twelve games to date to be released under the Command & Conquer label. To mark the 12th anniversary of the franchise, Electronic Arts, the current publisher and owner of the series, released the game for free in 2007.
The DOS version works under DOSBox, but the Windows version may be preferable.
A Vista-compatible version is included in EA's Command & Conquer: The First Decade. However, it has a several minor and major issues out of the box. A guide to these issues and how to fix them may be read here.
