Tyrian is a top-down scrolling shooter game where you take on the role of a skilled terraformation pilot called Trent Hawkins in the year 20,031. Your latest task is to assist in the terraformation of Tyrian, which unbeknownst to you is rich in gravitum, a mineral that contains the power to control gravity.
One day, your best friend, Buce, is shot by a hoverdrone. As he dies, he reveals that gravitum is being sought after by Microsol, the company in charge of the terraformation of Tyrian, who intends to use the mineral to supply limitless power to their warships, enabling them to take over the universe. Being a witness to Buce's assassination, you are now at the top of Microsol's hit list, and you must find a way to stop them from achieving their goal.
