Raptor: Call of the Shadows is a 2D top-down scrolling shooter. You are a mercenary flying the Raptor, hired by MegaCorps to undertake interplanetary missions to knock off their top competitors. The spoils you earn from their defeats can be spent on upgrades to your vessel.
Raptor is no longer sold as a physical product; the purchasable download for it is available at 3D Realms' Raptor page.
Windows Version
Since the release of the original Raptor, Mountain King Studios has released a Windows port of this game, available here. Be warned, however, that while boasting slightly enhanced graphics over the original MS-DOS version, the Windows version has the following issues:
- Your ship moves at half its normal speed when keyboard controls are used
- Your ship cannot move to the extreme right side of the screen when mouse control is used
