I hate to get off the games subject but I was directed to DOSBox in hopes that my dos app(not a game) might run in DOSBox.

The problem I am having is that my app needs about 74mb of mem to run:

                                                                      Conventional mem 640K
                                                                      Reserved mem 384K
                                                                      Extended XMS mem 73K
DOS running in High mem area

Right now I am running Win 95 and re-booting into DOS to run. Also using in the autoexec.bat file:

                                                                       HIMEM.SYS (BLV TO BE 16BIT)
                                                                       EMM386.EXE
                                                                       POWER.EXE

I am wanting this to run on my XP machine. I have tried many suggestions to no avail. I need this to run in XP for a variety of reasons. One being that I need ready access, via explorer, to the files the app creates.

You are about my last try. About to give up.

Thank You, Tom, faxpay

Hi

I don't know what program you are trying to run but if DBOX isnt working try using Virtual PC http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/virtualpc/default.mspx You will need your original DOS disks and Windows disks would really be an advantage as you need to install the additions CD to it via Windows.

Virtual PC is free and it is free to use.

When set up correctly it will allow for access to your virtual drives from your Host machine, this way you get the best of both worlds. This is a business device, as there is absolutely no Direct3D or direct draw support.

Hope this helps
