I would not say this under oath, but I think that the sound artifacts on the dos version were also present when I was playing it with my 386SX and Pentium computers (the music going out of tune when you jump on foes)

And as a rule with all dosbox games, remember always to decrease the cycles of the games in the early 90s (rule of thumb: until 1993-94) to 3000-6000, never on max, before running the game.

Also, there is a fine remake done by the dotemu people for mobile phones and modern OS that is based on the Amiga port.

Roland and General Midi music was not very well ported to the PC. It's very recommended to disable the extended midi emulation in dosbox (mpu401=none in dosbox.conf). The Adlib music at least sounds melodic.
