Many sites will say this doesn't work in DOSBox and to get a 'windows version'. There is some truth in this, however these hints will get you most of the way there:
* Make sure you have the latest CWSDPMI.EXE (v7 currently) in the same directory as the QFG.EXE file - https://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/freedos/files/distributions/1.2/repos/pkg-html/cwsdpmi.html
* In your DOSBox.conf set:
** sdl.output to opengl or openglnb - this will fix the odd colours
** dosbox.machine to svga_s3, vesa_nolfb or vesa_oldvbe
** In the autoexec section ensure you are not loading UNIVBE.EXE or other similar drivers
* Then when you run the game you should run SETUP.BAT first and select SB16 for sound and midi, and then for display only select 320x240 - the rest give an AGS error https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=6379.0

Colours are completely fudged. Perhaps I have it set up incorrectly.
