everything looks very green. possibly mac related issue -- problem does not occur when running dosbox inside wine.
Compatibility note, v0.73 (2009-08-18 21:27)

For non-windows users, the dos installer is still broken (error: hard drive cache not found).
For windows users, the installer for the windows version includes an option to install the dos version, and you can use this to create an (almost-perfect) working DOS installation. WINE users may also be able to do this.
I've noticed a bit of stuttering here and there, but it's rare and isn't reproducible, suggesting it's processor lag. the palette issue noted by martijn appears to have been fixed since v0.70.

When the DOS installer from CD1 is used, it doesn't create a needed file called "HD.HPF", thus creating a broken game. However, when the Windows installer is used, this works perfectly and you can copy the HD.HPF from the Windows installation into DosBox, which will make the game runable and playable.
Sound is okay and video playback is smooth, but there is one big problem: all the colors are fucked up. I tried running UNIVBE first, but it doesn't help.
If the colors could be fixed somehow, this magnificant game would be fully playable in DosBox.
