Heroes of Might and Magic: A Strategic Quest is a turn-based strategy game. HOMM (and it's sequel) may be purchased from GOG.com where it is preconfigured with DOSBox.
Making it work
mount d d:\ -t cdrom heroes
If you require support for general issues, see the performance guide and FAQ.
Using "D-Fend Reloaded" just add GO.BAT from the game's folder and run the Profile Wizard, then select default (cannon fodder) and Change the CPU Cycles to corect speed (around 6000 Cycles).
Testing
Works great with a basic install of DosBox. Sound is not choppy but no music (if there is any!?), plays in window and full screen.
Frost (DosBox v0.72 on Windows XP-SP3)
